SANDSPUR RIDING CLUB
CORRAL CORNER
MARCH 2009 NEWS-
Hello all, we just finished our March game show with another day of enjoyment. Sandspur had
some new members join and the day was enjoyed by all. Becky Brennan, our VP purchased nice
awards for "end of the night" High Point and Reserve winners. Thanks Becky!!
Yancey McDoanld of Yancey's Land Clearing Inc. has provided the club with a new pole so we can
remove the old rotting pole and relocate our security light. Thanks Yancey!! We will be looking
for volunteers to help dig the hole and set the new pole. Please see or contact any of the
executive members if you are able to help.
Last but not least Mark Linskens has begun prepping and painting the rest rooms and Tower.
Thanks Mark!!
APRIL 1ST 2009-

Hello everyone,
I wanted to start out by apologizing to those that came out for the Sun Coast show at our
arena Saturday March 28th. The arena was not watered enough. I take full responsibility and
will make sure it does not happen again. I understand several people were rather upset. The
other issue was the parking. As everyone knows, Sandspur's parking for large shows is always a
challenge. We tried to park everyone in areas and positions to maximizes the available space
Sandspur has. We understand everyone has certain places they like to park, but Sandspur needs
everyone's cooperation while we sort out how to maximize the parking.

We do hope everyone had a good time  The day was hot and long with a whole lot of riders, but
all -in -all I think we had a good day and we look forward to seeing everyone at the next Game
show or Open show.

Sandspur members don't forget the Clean Up Day scheduled for Sunday April 5th, 12:00 to 4

A big THANK YOU to those Sandspur members who were able to make our Sandspur
Clean Up Day a great success. We got a lot accomplished, with the removal of the
old light pole and the installation of a new one. To the great job of trimming the
perimeter of the property, removing old trash and trimming trees. Also, I would like
to thank those who donated tools for us to use, they came in real handy. I would
also like to thank Nikki & Yancey for providing us a means to get rid of all of the
waste we had, and Nikki for mowing the property for us. That help immensely!!
Last but not least, a big THANK YOU to those Juniors who showed up and painted
our fence along the road. What an improvement!!
I would like to plan another Clean Up day next month before it gets way too hot, so
we can continue to trim back the growth around the perimeter of the property.
THANK YOU all again!!

Job well done!!

MAY 2009

Hello everyone. Well Sandspur had a busy weekend. Due to the rainy weather some
other area arena's were unable to have their normally scheduled shows. Sandspur
was rather dry and the grounds were great for riding. So, a Jackpot show was
planned at the spur of a moment Saturday evening.  With some last minute planning
we came together and had a great turn out.  Sunday was our Sandspur Clean Up
Day. Gates opened at 7:15 and a big THANK YOU for those select few who showed
up to help clean up the grounds and Club House.
